I'm loving this heart mold

I'm so happy with the purchase of my large heart mold. Although I haven't sold any of the heart necklaces, I know I will once I get a few more made. Here are a few new ones that I've made recently:

As always, these and more can be found on my Etsy shop : www.etsy.com/shop/tastytreatscreations

I've also made a DeviantART account: www.tastytreatscreations.deviantart.com

Now that I am all settled in my new home, I have much more space and time to make my awesome resin creations.

For those of you that know me personally, or have followed my shop for a while, I like to make many different things. I see something new and tell myself, "I can make that!". Well, there's a new idea churning in my brain and I am hoping to begin sometime very soon. It's very different than everything I've done in the past, so a new shop will be opened (if I decide to follow through). So stay tuned, and maybe you'll see something unexpected ;)

Don't let the fire go out!

The past month or so has been a challenge for me. I moved to Louisiana for about 2 weeks, only to move back to Pennsylvania. I am now in the process of moving into my first house! Through all of the moving I took advantage of Etsy's "vacation mode". I decided to take some fresh pictures, and even make some fresh jewelry. I'm hoping to re-ignite my creative flame as I now have my own space to work in.

I also have new model pics to add to the collection:

Sewing...yet another passion

So for the past year or so, I thought my sewing machine was broken and in terrible need of a tune up. Boy was I wrong...

I took it to our local Sew and Vac, and the guy put fabric under it, and what do you know? It worked! So I went home and decided to pick up sewing again. Seems I haven't lost my touch, I made this bag.

I haven't quite decided if I want to sell this kind of stuff yet, but for now I just love making them. I still have a lot of learning to do.

Oh, and for those of you who follow, I closed my etsy store for a while. It'll be back up soon :)

New Mold = New Jewelry

I'm trying to stay up to date on current trends with resin jewelry, and right now it seems that big hearts are in...

I bought the mold so I can finally start making those chunky heart pendants too, and I must say, I really love all the space there is to work with. I can fit so many more little things inside the mold; it's a bigger canvas.

I bought my mold from a nice lady named Cindy, from www.resinobsession.com

She sells everything and anything you could ever want when making resin jewelry.

No pictures today unfortunately. I am over halfway done with the pendants that are in the mold right now, so I don't want to spoil the surprise by taking pictures of half finished products. :P

More coming soon, promise!

Using Models

To anybody who hasn't done so already, I highly recommend hiring models to, well, model your jewelry. For one, it helps get your name out there, all over the world. For example, a lovely lady named SugarPIE models for me from Portugal. Most of the people I find to model for me don't ask for money, but just to keep whatever jewelry it is that they model. If you ask me, it's so worth it!

Here are some pictures SugarPIE took for me a while back. Enjoy!

A creative slump...or just plain lazy

Lately I haven't been motivated enough to work on my little shop. I've made a few new things but I really need someone to give me a good kick in the ass so I can make some new things.

I started using letter beads in my jewelry, and I think they turned out very nice! However...they aren't selling. I also have access to a die cut machine. I've been making stickers and paper cutouts, and those sold on the first day! It's too bad the jewelry isn't going, I have so much more fun making those. I guess it's all in the marketing, which I am too lazy to do...

So anyway, I'm thinking about participating in a craft fair or something, just to help me get my name out there. I've been making a lot of jewelry (not all of them are on my etsy page...) and I hope to have enough things made up by spring.

Some new jewelry was made today. I think I'm getting better at this whole, resin thing. It's absolutely something I love to do!

I think next I'll start getting more creative with different layers, and adding more things to decorate with.

My workspace... and a sneak peek!

I just can't sleep tonight, what's wrong with me?!

I recently had an awesome friend come over and help me re organize all my supplies. We got about half way through when we realized it was 3:00 am (and around that same time my son threw up four times due to crib anxiety...)

Well, this is a picture of my actual work space. I was lucky enough to have this beautiful space personally built for me :) Every single drawer is filled with all sorts of goodies, like fabric, buttons, beads, paper, molds, glue guns, and many other things.

What you have just witnessed here is all the stuff I have yet to find a home for. We have some thread, pearls (vegan of course), paint... UGH!

And now for the "sneak peek" I promised.

TA DA! The first layer of my next batch of resin creations! Yes, I'm using the typical mold; sorry. Once I sell a few more of my pieces I promise I'll buy some more creative molds.

Well I hope you all enjoyed this update. Maybe now I can sleep. My little man will be up in a few short hours, then it's bye bye sleepy time for mommy!

Time to get back in gear!

I started messing around with new ideas for my shop. I found out that resin is very nice, and fun to work with.

I'm currently selling my resin creations on etsy! Check em out!
